Lithosphere means the land surface of the earth which consists of rocks, soils, minerals, etc. It covers mountains, hills, plateaus, plains, valleys and coasts over the continents. Hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere individually and collectively determine the characteristics of the lithosphere and how it changes in the course of time.
