Framing of the India’s Constitution
Drafting committee of nation’s Constitutuent Assembly was set up on August 29, 1947 under the chairmanship of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It consisted of seven members including the Chairman.
The Constitution was passed on November 26, 1949 and the Indian Constitution came into force on January 26, 1950. And January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day in India every year.
The Constitution of India begins with a Preamble, which outlines the main objectives of the Constitution. The Preamble was drafted and moved by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
